Hello Family!
I was so excited to hear from you this week. It is just always so good to hear from you. This week has been good. We had Zone conference this week and it was incredible. Sister Ninow spoke to us and I just felt the spirit so strong. I knew that must be what heaven feels like, it must be. Her topic was record keeping actually, all types, journals, letters, and scriptures. The biggest thing that stood out to me was to write down what you are becoming. Day to day as I write in my journal and letters home I feel like I include details, because that is good and wonderful. But more importantly I try to write down the things I am learning at each stage I´m in, write down the way I see the Lords hand in my life. I can´t say it all, but it really hit me. The major part of it was working more with members. President Ninow was in France (I think) at an area conference last week with Elder Ballard and the Area Presidency in Europe. There were some amazing things promised. Europe is preparing for another harvest, greater than the first when Heber C. Kimball and the others were here. It will happen with the younger generation and it will only happen as the missionaries and the members work together. It was so exciting. Also they said that for the first time in decades Europe is seeing an increase in baptisms instead of a decrease. I know this work is so important and it is Gods will that we all be a part of it. The Elders in our district had a baptism and as I saw her be baptized and confirmed I knew that it was so important that the members befriend her, accept her, love her, teach her. Being a missionary has really helped me see a whole other side of things. I was just thinking yesterday what a miracle it is that people stop long enough to hear what we say on the street. It is a bigger miracle when they decide to come meet with us and then actually meet with us. A greater miracle still is when they accept and keep the commitments, and start to progress in coming closer to the Savior. A greater miracle still is to see them get baptized and commit the rest of thier lives to living Gods will, to change their lives so God can bless them. It is a miracle to have them continue after baptism in the church, to not fall away, to not loose sight of their goal. A greater miracle still is to watch them preapre to go to the temple to make and keep more convenants and prepare to recieve more blessings the Lord has for them. And then to keep those covenants and continue to endure cheerfully, hopefully, faithfully to the end. There are miracles everywhere. Every step is a miracle and so important. I just pray so much for the new converts to not loose faith, to continue in the faith and never waver. This gospel is true and brigns peace in our lives. Satan is the adversary to everything good and pleasing to righteousness.
The gospel means everything to me. Knowing and becoming more like our Savior is my goal. Helping others come unto him is my quest. This work truly is a work :) and a wonder!
Love
Sister Fitzgerald
