Dear Family,
Thank you so much for the package. I received it a few days ago, but I waited to open it on my birthday. It was so much fun! I will say all the birthday stuff first then I will say everything else. So I woke up on August 24th and what to my surprise was on my desk window? It was a Happy Birthday poster with a bunch of sticky notes with nice things written on them all around. It was really cute. Then we went through a lovely bike ride through this really pretty park near our apartment. Then while I was getting ready my companion Sister Bodtcher made me crapes!!! They were so good! And we had my favorite hazlenut butter on top. :) It was delicious. After studies we hit the road for contacting. Oh before that the zone leaders called and sang happy birthday to me. It was funny, they were trying to sound like the other sisters. Anyway, That morning I had prayed to have us be able to teach a lesson on the street today and to get a new investigator from it, that would be the best present. So of course, like usual at the very end of our contacting time we contacted someone that was interested, we taught him some things, made out a new appointment, and he became a new investigator! Heavenly Father is so good at giving good presents. It was so cool. Then after that we were supposed to have a practice (we are singing for a baptism this weekend) with our district. And so we all met at the train stop then got on the train and started to travel. I wasn´t really recognizing the surroundings, but figured it was just another way to get to the church. Then we approached this Thai resturant and all the district said "Surprise! We´re not practicing. Happy Birthday!" I was so shocked. It was so much fun. After lunch we started contacting again, then our investigator went to FHE so we went and while there everyoen sang happy birthday to me. It was fun. Of course the day ended with coming home and planning and then opening your package. Thank you so much for the letters and the pictures. I loved it! Really Truly. I have the best family ever! It was a very good birthday.
Now, this week was good. We had a good lesson with our investigator. We were able to find out what his concerns were with baptism and now we know what to teach. It was so good. I just hope we can be led by the spirit to help him overcome his fear of commitment and get baptized. We taught some other lessons on the street, all of which were answers to prayers. I was so grateful. God is so good to us. He does answer prayers, we just have to work for them, and look for Gods hand.
I know this church is true! It means so much to me to know the truth. I know that happiness comes in serving others. Sometimes when I get discouraged, or doubtful, I just stop and think, "What? This church is true and it makes me happy. Now go tell that person." Then when I do, I always feel better, no matter what their response is. When we do what God wants us to do, we feel satisfied and happy. It is a very good feeling. I love this gospel, and being a missionary!
Love,
Sister Fitzgerald
