What a wonderful time...

Familie!

This week I just want to say that life is totally wonderful! Peter is just making leaps and bounds of progress. It is amazing. On one day he mentioned to us that at work he was so stressed that he had given in to temptation and had smoked half a cigarette and then his conscience told told him, "What are you doing? You are sinning." And immediately he tossed it. During that appointment we could tell he was not himself and at the end he told us what he had done. It turned into a great real teaching opportunity, we talked about repentance and how he had already done the first few steps of recognizing it was wrong and a sin and stopping. Now he just needed to pray to God in his personal prayers and confess and ask for forgiveness. The next appointment I noticed a change. He was humble and more grateful to God. He had done what we had said. He told us that he felt so much better, and we could tell. I can´t describe what I saw in him, but it was a change. He had a change of heart. We had another appointment with him yesterday and we told him we would meet him at the bus stop. When we drove by in the bus I will never forget what I saw. He was there sitting on the chair with Book of Mormon in hand just really delving into it. When we approached he told us that, that day he had had a really strong craving for a cigarette and so he decided to write down his testimony and then he just started reading in the Book of Mormon. I was so happy. It was so wonderful.

My time is almost gone. But I am just so grateful for the opportunity I have to be here in Mainz working with these wonderful people. A change of the heart is a miracle only God can work. And it is amazing to see.

I love this gospel, this work, and you!

Love,
sister Fitzgerald
