Hurrah for Israel!

Date: Monday, July 12, 2010

Family!

Well my goodness, it was great to get an email from every single one of you, almost. :) I was so grateful to read them all! And 'I share in your excitement for Thursday. It really is hard to believe that my service here will come to an end in a few days. I have loved my mission and the people here. I said it last week but I have to say it again. I have loved it. It was funny, on Saturday night we got a call from our ward mission leader saying that he was sick and wouldn´t be at church the next day and asked me if I would teach the Gospel Principles class. The lesson he assigned me was on Sacrifice. As I taught the lesson on sacrafice I felt the spirit so strong. There is a scripture in Matthew 19:29 ( I think) that says whatever we give up to serve God will be rewarded to us a hundred fold in this life and we will inherit eternal life. As I bore my testimony of that, I knew it was true. Serving a mission hasn´t really been a sacrifice of my life pursuits. It was an opportunity to be empowered by God's strength, wisdom, love, and power for the rest of my life. Whatever I have given here, God has given me much more than my due in return, because He is a merciful, loving God. This is a great work and I love the words in D&C 128, "Courage Bretheren and on, on to the victory!"

Updates on this week, um, we had some great last appointments with some of our investigators. One of our investigators has been making slow progress, but the last time we met with him on Thursday he said the closing prayer and in his prayer he thanked God for all he has learned from the Book of Mormon and us and how he has been shown how to come closer to Him. That was a tender mercy of the Lord to hear his sincere prayer of gratitude for the truth.

Well I have to go, but I will see you all on Thursday!

I love you all!

Love,
Sister Fitzgerald

P.S.
