Hello Familie!
IT was so good to talk to you on Sunday! I was looking so forward to it and it was so wonderful. I love each and everyone of you and was so happy to hear everyones voice and how you are all doing. Dad, I was so sad that I was not able to talk to you. I feel so bad that I was not able to talk to you at the airport or for Mothers Day. Good thing Winco is closed on Christmas, because then you will be there! I am sorry I was so scatter brained. For Christmas I will be prepared for the questions you will ask me. :)
Dad, what are your thoughts about Ritchie serving in your exact same mission? I think that is so great that Ritchie will be serving in Uruguay. Ritchie I am so happy for you!!! Missions are so amazing, and you will find that out very soon, if not already. I was thinking I wanted to make a list and send it to you, "What I wish I´d known before my mission" (like John Bytheway) but then I thought that the Spirit will tell you how you can best prepare for your specific mission. Before my mission I felt the Spirit tell me specific things I could do to prepare for the mission I needed to serve. I know He will do the same for you. With that being said I will say it wouldn`t hurt to know Chapter 3 in Preach My Gospel very well. Knowing the points in the full lesson plans really help while you´re teaching. :) And just enjoy delving into the scriptures and always follow the Spirit. You will be a great missionary!
Well Germany is great. We have a lot of finding time now, since we don`t have very many investigators. I didn't realize how much you´re heart could ache for someone else. Yesterday one of our investigators said she appreciated us talking with her, but she didn't want to continue because she liked where she was at. My heart just burst, not because I was offended or anything like that, it was just that I wanted the truth for her so much. On the mission you have to really rely on the Lord and just keep going. Nothing brings happiness like knowing the truth of the gospel. It brings happiness beyond anything I can even imagine.
Well I should probably go, but I love you all and I think you are all terrific! I am so grateful for the family God has given me. I look up to each of you so much. You don´t even know. When I see teenagers on the street I think of Chris and Jason and how they are such good examples of what good teenagers should be. When I see other elders I think of Ritchie and what a great missionary he will be. When I see little kids I think of Crozier and how much fun he is to be with and how funny he is. When I see young mothers I think of Candace and Kim and what great mothers they are. When I think of the sister Missionary I want to be I think of Tara how I should follow her example more. When I see Fathers in the home I think of Dad, Evan and Sean and what great fathers and husbands they are. When I think that I need to have more love and charity I think of mom and how she always told me, "Charity never fails." I love you all!
Love,
Sister Fitzgerald

Melinda your powerful testimony and charitable Spirit is such an inspiration to me! Thank you so much! I'm sending your poem to Crozier for Easter. Maybe on family site too!
